Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GoMingle Android application and related services at gomingle.eu (collectively, "GoMingle"). By creating an account or using GoMingle, you agree to these Terms.
GoMingle is operated by José Nuno Alves, based in Belgium.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use GoMingle.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use GoMingle. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
2. Your Account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current information when creating your account.
- You may not impersonate another person, create accounts on behalf of others, or use a fake identity.
- You may delete your account at any time using the in-app account deletion flow or via gomingle.eu/delete-account.
3. What GoMingle Is
GoMingle is a platform for connecting people for real-life shared activities in small groups. Users can create or join events, communicate via event comments, and build a profile that other users can see.
GoMingle is not a dating app, a professional network, or a paid service. We may add new features over time, in which case these Terms will apply to those features as well.
4. Acceptable Use
When using GoMingle, you agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or hateful.
- Post content that promotes violence, discrimination, or illegal activities.
- Post sexually explicit content of any kind, including in profile photos, bios, event descriptions, or comments.
- Post, share, solicit, or distribute any content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers minors. See Section 5 (Child Safety) for our zero-tolerance policy on Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
- Post links, URLs, or external addresses in comments. This is enforced automatically.
- Use GoMingle for commercial purposes without our written permission, including selling tickets, recruiting, advertising, or soliciting business.
- Create events for the purpose of misleading attendees (e.g. fake events, phishing).
- Harass, intimidate, or stalk other users.
- Collect or harvest information about other users.
- Attempt to circumvent technical limitations of the app, reverse engineer, or interfere with its operation.
- Use automated tools to access or interact with the platform.
- Misuse the reporting system to harass other users.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules and to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in violations.
5. Child Safety and CSAE
GoMingle is strictly an adults-only platform (18+). We have a zero-tolerance policy against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
The following are explicitly prohibited on GoMingle:
- Any content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers minors, including grooming, sextortion, or trafficking of minors.
- Any Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — including photos, videos, illustrations, and computer-generated imagery depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct.
- Any attempt to use GoMingle to identify, contact, or arrange in-person meetings with minors for any purpose.
- Solicitation, distribution, or referencing of any content sexualising or harming minors.
- Operating an account on behalf of a minor or facilitating a minor's access to GoMingle.
Accounts found to be operated by minors will be removed. Any user identified as engaging in CSAE behaviour will be permanently banned and reported to law enforcement.
When CSAM is identified or reported on GoMingle, we will:
- Remove the content immediately upon obtaining actual knowledge of it.
- Preserve evidence in accordance with applicable law.
- Report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) via cybertipline.org, to Child Focus (Belgium), and to the relevant authorities in the EU via the INHOPE network.
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
To report suspected CSAE on GoMingle, use the in-app reporting feature available on every event, comment, and user profile, or email abuse@gomingle.eu with details. CSAE reports are reviewed urgently and take priority over all other moderation matters.
6. Events and Real-Life Meetings
GoMingle facilitates connections between users for activities that take place in person.
You are solely responsible for your safety when meeting people from GoMingle in person.
- We do not verify the identity of users. Trust badges (Super Host, Ambassador) indicate community-level recognition only — they are not legal verification.
- We are not responsible for what happens at events, including injuries, conflicts, theft, harassment, or any other harm.
- We strongly recommend meeting in public places, especially for first encounters.
- Use your judgement. If something feels wrong, leave.
If you experience harassment or unsafe behaviour from another user, please report them via the in-app reporting feature and contact local authorities if necessary.
7. Content You Post
- You retain ownership of content you post (events, comments, photos).
- By posting content, you grant GoMingle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service.
- You are responsible for the content you post. You confirm you have the right to post any photos you upload.
- We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
8. Reporting and Moderation
You can report users, comments, and events that violate these Terms via the in-app reporting feature. We review reports as quickly as reasonably possible and may take action including:
- Removing reported content
- Issuing warnings
- Suspending or permanently terminating accounts
Reports of suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation receive immediate priority and are handled in accordance with Section 5 (Child Safety and CSAE).
We do not guarantee a response timeline. Repeated false reports may themselves result in action against the reporting account.
9. Privacy
Your use of GoMingle is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your data.
10. Trust Badges
Some users may display Super Host or Ambassador badges. These badges are awarded manually by GoMingle based on community contribution and trust. They are not paid features and cannot be purchased. We may revoke badges at our discretion.
11. Service Availability
- GoMingle is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
- We rely on third-party services (Firebase, Google Play). Outages or changes in those services may affect GoMingle.
12. Termination
- You may stop using GoMingle and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if your behaviour creates risk for other users.
- Termination of your account does not affect provisions of these Terms that by their nature survive termination (e.g. content licences for content you posted, limitation of liability).
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- GoMingle is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of GoMingle.
- We are not liable for the actions of other users, including any harm resulting from in-person meetings.
- Our total liability for any claim related to GoMingle is limited to the amount you paid to use GoMingle in the 12 months preceding the claim. As GoMingle is currently free to use, this amount is zero.
This section does not limit liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold GoMingle harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use of GoMingle after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of GoMingle will be resolved in the courts of Belgium, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
17. Contact
GoMingle is a personal project. Legal entity details will be added once the company is formally registered.
